“People enjoy the interaction on the Internet, and the feeling of belonging to a group that does something interesting: that’s how some software projects are born.” - Linus Torvalds
This quote somehow summarizes my work and motivation.
Hey, I am Prateek, a recent grad, currently working at Microsoft Research India under the SCAI program. Throughout my undergraduate, I have been a passionate supporter of open source software. For me any software feels like a way to channelize one’s thoughts and ideas into a form of creative expression. Internships with both FOSSASIA, Linux Foundation as a software developer intern during my pre-final year encouraged this passion.
After my second year summer, I have been involed with the SunPy project under, funded by NASA Open Source Software where I worked on developing modules for solar data analysis using Python.
Recently, we released over 9 versions of the SunPy code and 1.0 paper to be accepted at the American Astronomical Science Journal.
